うた描き ( ソングライター )

 

アフリカと宮崎を故郷に持ち、高校卒業後イルカの調教師を目指し

単身オーストラリアへ。

帰国後、短大で音楽と出会い、シンガーソングライターの道へ。

 

４枚のアルバムと、２枚のシングルをリリース。

代表曲である「大きな木になりたい」はカラオケ配信され

映画や絵本にも使われている。

​

CMソング、映画主題歌、合唱コンクール課題曲、 ゆるキャラテーマソングを手がける他、映画祭最優秀音楽賞など、数々の賞を受賞。

​

また2010年から10年間、地元宮崎で起こった口蹄疫をきっかけにお肉業界を

盛り上げたいと始めたお肉応援隊の活動「お肉応援隊」の元隊長でもある。

まるで短編映画を見てるかのような情景描写、

そして想いを“言葉”と“音”にのせる独特の感性は高い評価を受け、

現在はソングライターとして活動。

UTA KAKI (The songwriter)

 

Raised in Sierra Leone and Japan, Karen aspired to become a dolphin trainer in Australia in her late teens. She picked up music while in college in Kyoto and came to Tokyo after graduating to start a career as a singer-songwriter.

 

Karen has released four albums and two singles.

One of her most popular songs, "Like a Big Tree," is available for singing at karaoke spots nationwide and has been made into a movie and a picture book.

 

The prize-winning artist has also written songs for commercials, films, a choir competition, promotional campaigns and mascots, and more.

 

Karen receives high praise for her keen sensitivity and gifted approach in putting thoughts into vivid words and music. Fans liken listening to Karen’s music to watching a good short film. She now focuses on writing songs only.
